Design Studio Selection Process

Your home, your way

Homebuyers who build from the ground up with Monte Hewett Homes typically have three two-hour Selection Sessions in the Design Studio with Joy Kirkland, our Design Studio Manager. We encourage you to walk through as many of Monte Hewett’s homes as possible before your sessions to get ideas about available options and your preferences. Selection sessions are scheduled in plenty of time to meet our internal deadlines, which are an important part of keeping your home construction on schedule.

First Meeting:

• Exteriors – shingle color, brick selection and mortar color, paint colors for trim, body, shutters and front door
• Stair Parts – treads, balusters, newels
• Plumbing – style and finish of fixtures
• Fireplace treatments – hearth, mantel and surround
• Appliances (if other than standard)

Second Meeting:

• Cabinets – style and finish
• Tile – tile and design
• Hardwood Floor – stain and location
• Built-in Cabinets

Third Meeting:

• Interior paint – walls, trim and ceilings
• Countertops – type of material, edge style and sink style
• Kitchen backsplash – tile and design
• Carpet – location, style and color
• Lighting selections are made after the third meeting at a specified Lighting Showroom, and an additional meeting is scheduled at your home site to make selections for hardscapes, landscape and flatwork.
